I just started a new job with a new company and it has taken so much of thoughts that cardmaking has taken a back seat.. and I didn't like it a bit.. :).. Why does life have to happen and we have to work and slave for 8 hours when we can just do cards and scrapbook instead?.. It's a duh question I know and we all know the answers to that.. I wish my circumstances were different but it is the way it is.
I am back and joining the weekly TOMIC again and here's my card for the week:
Lady bug
Materials: Maya Road hat pins, Bazzill Cardstock, Distress Inks, Tattered Angels Mist
Stamping: Magnolia Stamps, Copic Blending Paper, Copic Markers, Memento Ink
Others: Sizzix Embossing plates, EK Success Punch, Paper Roses and Misc Ribbon
I love the challenge this week and that is to make our own backgrounds. I have made a few cards using this technique and I enjoyed doing it a lot. I makes you take your creativity to another level!
What I did is I dry embossed a cardstock then stamped the whole cardstock in Mustard Seed Distress Ink. Then I tapped Victorian Velvet Distress Ink over the raised images. I actually wanted it only on the raised areas but I wanted to see the effect of the ink over the unraised images once it's all diluted in water. I then sprayed it generously with Irridescent Gold Mist. I actually love the effect! And that's how I did my background paper :)
And here are some close-ups:
Thanks for looking :)
